Our Goat Mountain & 007 Advanced Guided Ride is the ultimate family or beginner experience in Bass Lake near Yosemite National Park, CA. The 007 trail network is a hidden gem and the most popular in Bass Lake, California. Your guide will lead you on a ride that will take you up Central Camp Road (dirt road) to the top of the 007 3rd single-track trail. We will connect with the Octopussy trail, an alternative to riding the entire 3rd section of 007. Octopussy is rated a black diamond trail that begins with a wide-open, fast descent. The trail will then become more challenging, with tight turns leading to a rock garden filled with large boulders and rock ledges. There are multiple lines to choose from, with some being more challenging than others. Your guide will help you navigate the best rout for you. After this section, the trail becomes fast and flowy with some high-speed sections and jumps, natural berms, and rocky sections that quickly sneak up on you as you descend to Central Camp Road and 007 2nd entrance.007 From there, we will head to the Gold Finger trail, which is not on any maps. Gold Finger is a flowy trail that connects to 007 2nd. 007 2nd is a chunky rocky trail that is not too steep. The trail will challenge intermediate riders, and our guide will lead you through the best line choices. Once we exit 007 2nd, we’ll take a break and check out the views of Bass Lake. We will then continue to 007 1st, the most popular trail in Bass Lake, California. 007 1st has a fast and exhilarating descent. It is very flowy except for a large erosion rut called The Canyon, where the turns are very tight, and you must avoid pedal strikes. Overall, 007 1st offers many different line choices, providing options to bypass jumps and drops. These drops can be surprising when riding fast, so your guide will warn you about what is approaching.

Yes! We operate under a US Forest Service Special Use Permit for this part of Sierra National Forest. It took us 19 months of working with the forest service to earn our permit. We are the first bike shop in this area to be awarded a permit.

Kids: children from age 7 to 12. Kids should be comfortable riding a bike for approximately 2 hours before going on a guided ride. Any person aged 13 or older is considered an adult.

Beginner: Beginners include anyone who doesn’t ride a mountain bike often, prefers to ride gravel roads or very gentle or paved paths and trails, and can be on the bike for an average of two hours.

Advanced Beginner: An advanced beginner rider has mountain biked several times on flat or very gentle hills and non-technical terrain.

Intermediate: Intermediate riders include anyone who rides a bike often, is relatively fit, is comfortable on singletrack dirt trails or steeper roads, and can be on the bike for up to four hours.

Advanced Intermediate: Advanced intermediate riders are comfortable riding for up to 6 hours. They are very comfortable climbing or descending on most singletrack trails and can ride some technical features.

Advanced/ Expert: Advanced riders ride mountain bikes often, can ride 50 to 100 miles per week, enjoy and seek out the single technical track, and are comfortable on bike rides for up to eight hours.

Yes! We can rent you a bike. We do offer a discount when you pay for a guided ride. The rental also includes a helmet.

Full refund for reservations canceled at least 72 hours before scheduled hikes. We do not offer refunds for cancellations within 72 hours of scheduled hikes.
